JIVE & SWING DANCE THREE WEEK COURSE

From Tuesday 13th January 2026 we are offering a Jive & Swing course of three weekly sessions, on 13th,20th & 27th January 2026 targeting those who wish to learn a social jive dance and be able to dance to a wide range of music genres including swing, rock'n'roll, jazz and chart hit classics.

In the first three weeks you will learn you will learn simple footwork and a few basic moves to get you going on the dance floor, in a second course we will progress the footwork and introduce more moves and that important styling.

The lessons start at 7.30pm and last about an hour and then there's plenty of practice time after until 9.45pm.

Cost for the course is £21 per person and is suitable for all ages 18+ single or couples and you don't need to have danced previously.

About your teachers:

Linda and Den are professional dancers and qualified teachers who have been teaching jive and swing since 2000. They have taught thousands to dance, some of which are today teachers themselves . In the period 1999 to 2004 they won numerous Jive contests.

Since 2004 they performed as a couple on stage and at festivals and since 2012 they have led the JitterbugJive Lindy Hop and Jazz dance troupe as lead dancers and they have performed many times at festivals including the Royal International Air Tattoo, Imperial War Museums London and Duxford, Isle of Wight Music Festival, the National Motor Museum Beaulieu, The Shake & Stir festival, for Bournemouth tourism, Poole Goes Vintage festival, for SKY TV, for Channel 4 TV, for Forces TV plus much much more including many private parties and charity events.

Both hold public liability insurance for £10million each and they hold full PPL licencing to play recorded music.

Their focus is for your dancing to be fun and joyful and we will teach you the skills for you to have fun on the dancefloor.
